Netgeat_ext not showing up in network list so can't set up

I have followed the steps to set up my AC1750 Netgear Wifi mesh extender, have plugged it next to the router, all lights have turned green but the network Netgear_ext does not show up in the list of network so I can't connect to it.

Any ideas why this might happen?

    Did you set it up using the push button WPS option? 

    If so, its a mesh extender and will have the same exact ssid as the router. It won't show up separately. 

     

    If you didn't do this, try factory resetting the extender and set it up using the installation assistant.

    To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
