New Extender EX2700 Unable to connect

I'm trying to set up our new Range Extender.  The manual method doesn't seem to work.  When I enter the URL they tell me to, I don't get the NEW EXTENDER SETUP as the instructions say, but rather "You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network".  Any suggestions?

    Hi Dana,

     

    The N300 WiFi Range Extender Model EX2700 Quick Start Guide does state...

     

    "Connect with the NETGEAR Installation Assistant
    1. Use a WiFi network manager on a computer or mobile device to find
    and connect to the extender WiFi network NETGEAR_EXT. *
    After the connection with the computer or WiFi device is established,
    the Device Link LED lights.
    2. Launch a web browser.
    3. Enter www.mywifiext .net in the address field of the browser.
    The New Extender Setup page displays...."

     

    * The security key/password for the NETGEAR_EXT is printed on the product label.

     

     This should allow to establish a wireless connection to the extender. If the coputer does state there is no Internet connection, allow it to retains the connection without Internet access.
