new WG602v4 not at 192.168.0.227
This is a really simple question.
I have a brand new WG602v4
I am trying to configure it as an addition to my existing netgear home network.
Setting it up stand alone 1st and connecting it to a PC with the supplied ethernet cable.
going to 192.168.0.227 just times out. I am using IE7 on Vista
I have tried the following tests
1) Using a Mac in place of the PC (just had it handy) same problem
2) Fiddling with the ethernet speed and duplex settings (the ethernet light is green and flashin a normal way) same problem
3) Using the ethernet cable provided to connect to another netgear access point - no connection problem with that device.
4) Reseting the WG602v4 same problem
5) varing the power on vs ethernet connection sequence same problem
Anyone have any ideas or is the device just broken? It seems superficially OK and the packaging was in paerfect condition.
thanks in advance for any/all comments
