Nighthawk AC1900 wifi extender keeps dropping connection

I'm looking for some help on this issue. I have run into it recently and it's very annoying while I'm trying to play video games online.

I have performed the following -

- Updated it to it's latest firmware

- Hard reset the device multiply times

- Tried to more it closer to my router

I have asked my housemate who controls the main router if there's an issue on his end or anything and he says it's all good. He even mentions that he hasnt changed any settings since setting the main router up about a year ago.

Cheers.

What is the main router and firmware on it?

have you done a wifi scan? New networks setup in the area can cause interfernce. Sometimes a simply channel change can help with these issues.

Have you tried using netgear fastlane setup?

What speeds are you paying for? What speeds are you getting on the router, hardwired into the extender, and wireless from the extender?

How is it connected? Ie you're playing video games but are you playing on a harewired ps4, wireless device, etc.

      Hey Mate,
Our main router is a Asus ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 Wireless Gaming Router.

I'll have to get my housemate to see if he can do a wifi scan and see if he can maybe change the channel as well.

We have the highest plan here in Australia, we pay for 100mbs down. I usually get around 60-90mbs down when my wifi extender is working.

So they way I have set up my connection is I have my xbox hard wired into the extender. I also have my TV and phone connected via wifi to the extender.
