Nighthawk App can read read the QR code for my Netgear EAC 20
Of course, Netgear makes it sound easy, "point the camera to the QR code" but the stupid app says "invalid QR code" whien it's completely valid and my Nighthawk EAC 20 router is less than a year old. Does Netgear churn out the QR codes to drive customers to their paid technical support? What gives? The technology isn't bad (except for the app) but the software and service surely SUCKS.

1. There isn't an EAC20. Maybe you mean a EAX20? Unsure as thats a wireless extender and not a router. So what device do you have?
2. If its the eax20 wireless extender, you can factory reset it and install it using the installation assistant (my recommendation) or using wps.
Have you tried those?
There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.
Its a great resource to start with.
