No, I'm doing it through the genie. It's definitely connected to the internet because it works wired.
Have you logged into the extender and changed the ssid and password?
Make sure there's no special characters or spaces in the ssid/password
I have yes, both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz extended networks have their own names and passwords that are different than the original 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks. The passwords and ssid's contain no special characters, just letters and numbers.

Every wireless device I've tried had the issue including two laptops, one iPhone, one iPad, one Roku TV, and multiple smart devices (light bulbs, google assistant, smart plugs).
