Nighthawk EX8000 extender and Ipad connectivity

Having issues with my old Ipad browsing experience when I connect to the Nighthawk EX8000's extended wifi. I can connect fine but when I try to use the Safari browser, the internet connection spins/freezes and the green connect bar stalls and I cannot get to any website. If I connect to my home router's original wifi, my safari browser works fine. 

 

I can also connect with my android phone and amazon fire tablets with no problems. It's only the ipad that I have issues. Is there some setting I need to enable on my ipad to make it compatible with the Netgear extender? I have the latest firmware installed for my extender.

    what primary router do you use? 

    Does it work fine with a different browser on the ipad? 

    Do apps on the ipad have issues or only the browser?

      I use the Verizon Fios Quantum Gateway router. It is my only router. 

       

      I have not tried a different browser on the ipad. I'm not sure you can install any non-Apple browser on the ipad actually. 

       

      No other issues other than the browser and when connected via the Netgear wifi extender. When I connect the browser to my primary Fios router's wifi, it works fine. Only when I connect to the Netgear's 2G or 5G extended wifi band does it not work.
