Nighthawk Extender EX7300 not connecting to ORBI RBS50 after updating firmware v2.3.5.30
Hi All.
After updating my ORBI RBR50 and RBS50 with the latest firmware v2.3.5.30 my Nighthawk EX7300 does not connect to RBS50 satellite only to the Router RBR50 that is to way to far away. When I downgrade the firmware on the Orbi RBS satellite to v2.3.1.60 the nighthawk reconnects to the Orbi RBS50. Can someone help or is this a firmware issue?

Orbi dynamically switches radio's and from router to satellite based upon rssi strengths and bandwidth being used. Maybe Netgear tweaked the firmware for the steering mechanism with the latest update and that's what causing the extender to change which it connects to.
I usually don't recommened using extenders with Orbi because of Orbi controlling band/device connections. It tends to make extenders malfunction and work poorly as well as it adds wireless interference. The only way I'd personally do this is if you could hardwire in the extender and use it in AP mode.
- TC10TutorI am having same issue since fw update. ex7300 will connect to orbi but not to network. Other devices connected to orbi connect to network.
This was working fine for over a year.- THizzle7XUAspirant
I also have this issue. For a time I was able to leave my Orbi router on the previous firmware and allow the satelite to update and allow my EX7300 to continue to connect to the main Orbi Router, but eventually the router updated automatically. I can roll the firmware back, but it's getting annoying.
