Nighthawk Mesh X4S AC2200
I have the EX7500/AC2200 and it extends my 5g WiFi. I have a product that only will use the 2.4ghz band. How do I only extend the 2.4ghz band so this product can work ?

Thank you. Maybe this clarity’s a little better. So I have an outdoor WiFi plug(for outdoor lights timers type thing ). It’s too far and needs the extended to hit it. This plug only can accept 2.4ghz. The nighthawk is extending what appears to be only the 5ghz band so the plug will not accept the signal. How do I make the nighthawk only duplicate and extend the 2.4ghz. Is it possible to turn off the 5ghz extender on it?

If you read the prior response, it walks you through how to seperate out the one name function. The 2.4ghz is broadcasting but it sometimes creates conflict with setup when they're named the same. Seperate them out, connect your phone to the 2.4ghz, and then setup your device.
- Extender33May 03, 2019AspirantThank you again for your help. I do have one more issue with my nighthawk mesh wall plug extender. The light all the way to the left (signal strength indicator I believe ) constantly changes to red for 30 seconds then back to blue. The extender is in a spot that all devices get full strength WiFi signal from our router. It is well within the half way distance of signal strength from router. Why is this occurring? I’m tempted to return it and go with a different model if this is not picking up signal where all other products will. Thanks for your support answers.

Thanks for your support answers. Its using a dedicated radio for connection back to the router so it might be a little more sensitive than a phone that is moving on your body and doesn't have an led that constantly tells you the state of your connection. How close are you back to main router? Sometimes moving extenders closer/further away or even a couple feet to a different outlet can help reduce interference or something blocking signals. I know HVAC does a great job of signal blocking as does foil backed insulation. Pretty much all extenders need to be moved around a little for optimum positioning. If you just plug it in to a single outlet and don't try testing it in different area's, you're not going to get the most out of it.
