How much area are you trying to cover? (square footage)
What is your housing materials? Certain materials are going to block wifi signals. These include brick, concrete, foil lined insulation, adobe, plaster lathe, and hvac. All these are going to create issues for wifi so what your house is made of matters a lot.
With extenders, there's a lot of playing around to optimize placement and wifi signals. I can go over these or link you to an article that goes over it all. I'll do that to save me typing time.

many things can influence how an extender performs. The EX6250 is a faily solid extender (I used one for a while) so I'd work optimizing it first (provided it can be depending on your house materials).
