Nighthawk R8000 with Nighthawk wifi 6 Mesh Extender would that help with speed of wifi on devices ?

No too sure if somebody can help me here.

I have Nighthawk R8000, devices wifi speed went down if far away from the router. :-(

If I get an Nighthawk Wifi 6 extender,  would that help? ( most devices that i have isn't Wifi 6 yet )

Wifi 6 is in the market now..... should I get the Wifi 6 extender ?

Thanks

  • I've been in contact with netgear trying to figure out how a EAX80/20 works in comparision to the triband extenders from netgear.

To break it down, a single/dual band extender has to receive and then retransmit a signal. And it can't do both at once so they take a 50% speed hit for whatever speed they're getting. The tri-band extenders from netgear (EX7500, EX7700, EX8000) all reserver 1 of the 5ghz bands just for router----extender communication. so they don't take tha large speed hit. I usually recommend these extenders because of this reason.

So I can attest to how well the thibands work but I can't say how well the AX extenders work because I haven't gotten an answer on performance impacts (and my wife won't let me buy one to test :) )
