Nighthawk R9000 X10
I have the Nighthawk R9000 X10. I have dead zones in close proximity to the outside of my home and in my garage so I bought the Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System to use as a AP. The problem I’m having is when I set it up, main router (X10) no longer works and I’ve had to do a complete reset on it in able to get back to the router login page. There’s not many videos that I can find to help resolve this and help get past this obstacle. Did I buy the wrong system? What I’d like to do is use my X10 as the main router, and the mesh router and satellite as an AP or extender. Whichever works. If anyone has any idea as to how I set this up, your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can. I've done it a ton of times setting up systems.
So when you're x10 is setup how you want it, leave the orbi system disconnected while you're setting it up (skip the internet check part). Once its setup how you want (still disconnected), then put the orbi in access point modem. Plus a cable from the lan port on the x10 into the wan port on the orbi.
That should have you set up with the orbi in access point mode.
You don't change anything on the x10's wan/lan for access point mode. Only the orbi
