Nighthawk X4 - Will new router recognize the original Nighthawk settings

I'm trying to take the easy way out. I just upgraded my Verizon router. I'm hoping the new router will recognize my original Nighthawk and it's settings. Or, will I have to reset and reconfigure my Nighthawk's settings? If so, where can I find the proper instructions? Thanks for your help.

    This was a whole confusion of a post. 

    Did you have a netgear router and upgrade? If so, what did you have and what did you buy?

    I'm not sure what the Verizon router has to do with it.

     

    Usually, when I replace my router, I reuse the same SSID. This allows devices just to connect automatically. 

    In terms of settings, backups usually aren't transferable between devices because there's hardware differences. If that's what you're referring to. Not sure as your post jumps around a lot.
