Nighthawk X4S Tri-Band Range Extender - No connection
Bought this last week, followed instructions and had it connected. Today, even though the lights showed I had 2.4, I had no connection. When I looked at my devices, the two wireless bands did no...

Thank you VERY MUCH for your response, unfortunately, I didn't understand a word of it. I'm new to all of this when discussing "adding an extender". I'm in Latin America, just finally able to have "wired" internet into the house vs a dish. The Modem they installed in a combination Modem/Router (Huawei HG8245W5)
Mesh Set up? My installation guide had two methods, I chose the one that "Connect with WPS". If you can word a respond so a dummy could understand what I need to do, it would be greatly appreciated.

mesh extender: it uses the same ssid (wireless name and password) as the router you connected it to.
if you set it up using the wps, that's the default setup.
Meaning you'll only "see" one ssid broadcast (maybe 2 depending on router). It doesn't mean it isn't working, its just replicating the ssid and relying on phones/devices with roaming capability in them to use their native roaming to bounce from the router to the extender as needed.
the "no connection" displayed just means that nothings connected to the extender currently on those bands, not that it isn't working. they'll be gray instead of green if they're not working.

OK... I got that.
3 days ago when I set it up for the first time... my laptop, my IPAD and my android cell phone all showed the 2.4 and 5.0 extender on the list. I experimented with each one to see which one gave me the better internet speed.
Today... the two extender selections are not on any of my devices... my extender is still plugged in, 3 lights on. the 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz lights are out.
If you told me what I should do to get my devices connected, I didn't understand...
Any hope for me?

The wifi lights on the extender light up when a device is connected to them.
When you're logged into the extender its showing that the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz are broadcasting just thats nothings connected.
That's why your lights aren't on.
you can shut off mesh mode if you'd prefer.
to do so, you can login into the extender and disable the onessid function.
or factory reset and follow the installation wizard. just don't setup via wps if you don't want onessid function enabled.
