Nighthawk X6 AC2200 cuts off wifi

Connected EX7700/AC2200 to BT HomeHub2 thru Netgear app, apparently successfully. Moved extender to area of low signal & switched on. Tested on iphone which normally has low signal there but signal now cuts out altogether & it throws phone back onto 4G. How to fix?

    The extender usually needs to be in the middle. It needs a decent signal to pickup/rebroadcast. If you move it to the area without/poor signal, it won't have a decent signal to work off.
