Nighthawk X6 keeps showing amber lights (weak signal)
I have a Nighthawk X6 Tri-band WiFi Mesh Extender (EX7700) connected to my Xfinity router. Recently, the EX7700 has been showing one amber light (poor connection). I reboot the Xfinity router, and then the EX7700, and it shows all white LEDs, but a few hours later, it shows one amber light again.
EX7700 firmware is up to date.

When its showing amber, log into the extender and get a screensnip of the status light.
I'm suspicious that the 5ghz drops and its going failover to the 2.4ghz.
If that's so here's what I'd do.
1. reinstall the EX7700 but during the setup process, uncheck the "extend 2.4ghz network" button. You'll still be able to use the 2.4ghz network but it won't use it as failover
2. Check the primary router and ensure its not using the dfs channels. If you're in an area that has broadcasts on the dfs channels, that can cause the drops that reconnect fine on a reboot.

The status light was amber this morning, so I connected to the EX7700. The 2.4ghz band showed no connection, and the 5ghz was connected. I logged into the Xfinity router (XB7), and the status showed both 2.4ghz and 5ghz as active with connected clients. As I was doing this, the EX7700 lost the 5ghz connection.
The weird thing is that the EX7700 graphic status showed no connection, but the connection details below showed a strong signal.
My Xfinity router doesn't allow changing which channel you use.
