No Connection in Certain Power Outlets

Problem with powerline devices is interference. Many things can cause interference.
These include:
Gfci outlets
surge protectors
Arc fault breakers (required more often these days)
distance (they might be right next to each other but on totally different circuits, adding distance)
different circuits. Crossing circuits decreases speeds greatly
Old/bad/poorly done wiring
electronics that are going bad or cheaply made can inject interference
so if they're working when they're on the same circuit, it isn't the powerline devices. It could be something either injecting interference or one of the other things that are causing interference.
