Own R8500 Nighthawk X8 and need WiFi Range Extender to barn 120 feet away.

Question

I own a Nighthawk X8 R8500 Router in my home which works great throughout my home and patio. The signal occasionally makes it to the barn about 120 feet from the house but not consistently. I want to purchase a WiFi Range Extender but have no idea what to choose. I do have a power pole between the house and barn and could have an electrician put an electrical outlet in it for the range extender. Or could the range extender be placed in a wall socket in a location of the barn closest to the house? Not sure what to purchase. Please help. I need the WiFi in the barn to use my NestCam to monitor litters of pups in the puppy nursery.

How good of a wireless signal do you get on the side of the barn closest to the house?

Does the outlet in the barn run off the same power box as your home? If so you could look into powerline extenders to solve the issue.

I'm not sure if it uses the same power box. The electric line runs from the electric company pole to a box on a pole in my yar. From that box&nbsp;an eletrical line runs to the house and another line runs to the barn. I guess I could call the electric coop that services my area abd ask them about adding a powerline extender. The box on the pole is locked by the electric company.
