PL1000 and EX6100 AC750
I have just purchased a PL1000. Will it create a wifi hotspot, and/or can my EX6100 AC750 create a hotspot, or do I need the PLW1000?

The PL1000 is a powerline device only. There isn't wifi built into it. If you have the ex6100 though you don't need to purchaset the plw1000. You can hook up your powerline to the ethernet port on the ex6100 and set it in AP mode (for best performance).

- Trelawney7Sep 14, 2019AspirantAwesome thanks.
We have a number of different circuit breakers on our property. There was nothing to suggest this would be an issue when I purchased the PL1000, but now I’m led to believe it is?- plemansSep 14, 2019Guru - Experienced User
Potentially yes. Things that degrade powerline performance include surge protectors, arc fault circuits, gfci circuits, high draw motors on the same line, some cell phone charges, houses with old wiring, all these can reduce the performance.
Its not saying they won't work but like any electronics transmission, the further away/more obstacles/more interference, the worse the signal.
Its still a hardwired connections so the nice thing is if you have signal and get a decent speed, its usually always that speed baring adding further issues on the circuit. I prefer them to wireless extenders for this reason. If you already have the powerline devices and extender, I'd try them out working together.
