Ok I understand now what you're trying to do. Yes if you want the AP to be a repeater you will need the wireless security types to be the same with the same SSID and password and as the WG102 doesn't support WPA2 in wireless bridging mode you will have to set the 2wire's security to WEP which if you're in a coporate environment might not be a great idea as WEP is not secure enough anymore.

It sounds like you have already entered the MAC address of the 2wire into the netgear (should be in the parent AP section) as well as an IP address so all you should need to do is create a WEP security profile on the 2wire and use the same settings and key in the netgear's security profiles so they can "talk" to each other. The DNS server address should be the same as the 2wire's IP address if you haven't already.
