Yes if you want the AP to be a repeater you will need the wireless security types to be the same with the same SSID and password and as the WG102 doesn't support WPA2 in wireless bridging mode you will have to set the 2wire's security to WEP which if you're in a coporate environment might not be a great idea as WEP is not secure enough anymore. The DNS server address should be the same as the 2wire's IP address if you haven't already. Let me know how you get on

Thank you this has helped me loads!!! i was reluctant to change the security on the 2wire to WEP just becuase then i will need to reconnect all devices afterwards. Im not in a corporate setting this is at my own home, i am testing it for my brother who also has a 2wire in a pub where he gets signal downstairs but not up. I will try what you have suggested shortly and let you know what happens. Are you saying that the DNS address on the AP needs to be the same address as the 2wire iteself e.g 192.168.1.254?

Why is WEP less secure? i mean you still have to enter a code so its not like anyone can just connect. Would you say its a bad idea to have WEP if you have neighbours close by?
