Power failure during firmware update EX2700 WiFi Extender
Hello,
I bought this EX2700 three years ago. It worked perfectly, but I stopped using it because I didn't need it at some point. I kept it stored in its box with the plastic and everything.
I just happened to need it today, like two years after I used it for the last time.
I did a factory reset and started setting it up at my girlfriend's house. The setup finished successfully and everything was working fine. However, I got a message in the management page of the device telling me there was a firmware update with some security and bug fixes. I said "ok", it downloaded the update and started applying it.
It all happened too fast, it was like already 5 minutes in and the power light was still flashing amber while the connected devices were still working fine.
Then we lost power for a minute and well, when the EX2700 turned on it wasn't working at all. It doesn't connect to the router, the extended WiFi network doesn't show up, and the factory reset button doesn't work. The power LED is flashing green, no other LEDs are on.
I tried connecting a computer physically to the ethernet port it has and assigned a static ip address to my PC. I was able to ping the default ip address 192.168.1.1 but besides that nothing else worked. No TFTP, HTTP (TCP 80/8080), HTTPS, Telnet, SSH.
I tested those, both with applications and trying to Telnet into those ports
I checked the serial number hoping that maybe I still had support for it, but it expired last year T.T.
So right now the forums are my only hope to get it back to a working state.
The only kind of similar problem I could find was installing the firmware via TFTP, but that was on a different device, a router I think. But I don't think that works for this one.
Any help would be greately appreciated!
did you try recovery via tftp?
