Are you able to connect to the wifi?
How about using the IP address of the AP (access point) to log into it and manage it?
The manual also shows using the genie to manage it. Have you tried this?

Genie is not detecting any appliance when I open it on my mac and the new version, only shows controls for routers and I only have the poweline repeaters from Netgear

I don't have that specific model but if you have the IP address of the device, you can type that into your browser to access the setup/settings that route instead of the genie.
or when you're connected try mywifiext . net (remove spaces, it doesn'tt let me post them without the spaces)
default login is admin
default password is password
