Powerline PL1000v2 unable to set IP address

I just bought a Powerline PL1000v2, and when I set it up, it wasnt able to get a connection. I then tried with a Linux laptop, and it got stuck on "Setting Ip address" phase of connecting. I tried to connect a spare router to my main one, and it got internet without a problem, and it also appears that the two Powerline units do get a connection between each other, but just can't get access to the internet.
