Problems EX3700 linking to Sky router

Router isn't yet connecting to EX3700 wifi extender without the ethernet cable being plugged in. Anything I can try? Cable currently trailing up the stairs. Devices connect to the extender successful...

the sky router is er115 Q router i think

 

followed booklet instructions...not wps

 

extender used out of the box only got it today

have you tried setting it up using wps? 

you can have the extender in the same room during setup (so you don't have to run the cable). then just move it where you want when its setup

    pressed the wps button nothing happened.

    the unit works as i can connect to it from devices and it is much quicker but only if the unit is connected to the router.

      Did you rerun setup with the extender disconnected from the router? 
      You can't have it connected to the router with a cable during setup or it sets up in access point mode.

        ran thru the set  again from the start and did it correctly this time....
