Range Extender For AC4000 (R8000P)
What is a good extender recommendation? One that is easy to hook up, could be outlet or desktop type, uses same wifi password as router and gives good range boost for large area. (Router is in basement ...need to blast thru first floor and garage to outside of house)

I'm a fan of the tri-band extender line. Reason why is extenders use the same radio to receive and re-transmit. it cuts bandwidth in half and increases latency. you can use fastlane to help offset that but the ideal fix is the tri-bands. They reserve one of the wifi chipsets just for router---extender communication. your speeds are much better. There's several versions and so far the tri-bands are mesh so you can use the same ssid as the router.
That's the route i'd go.
