Range extender keeps dropping

100ft is quite a distance for 5ghz. 2.4ghz might make it but its much slower and more sensitive to interference.
If you log into your extender, what are you showing under your status for the connection back to the router?
Also, check in your g3100 to make sure self organizing network is disabled.
plemans I am sorry, I mean under 100 feet, it's much closer to 20 feet.
Here is a screenshot, it just dropped 10 seconds ago and I had to reboot again.
SON was on, does that cause problems?
I just turned it off.SON is verizon's version of mesh. I've heard it can cause issues if you're not using verizon extenders but I haven't ever played with it before as I don't have verizon.

Gotcha. I woke up this morning and it dropped again. (With SON off on the modem/router)
When it happens, I cannot log into the EXT. 192.168.1.250. It is not even pingable when it's down. The computer I am pinging it from is connected to it via ethernet. Even if the EXT lost signal to the router, I assume it would still be reachable via direct connect?If I bounce the EXT, it comes back for a few hours.
I switched power outlets the EXT was plugged into but the issues followed.Unless maybe the whole circut has issues? I don't really know where to look next. :(
Do these devices have logs of any type I can pull?
