range extender lose connectoin every 15 minutes

hi guys ...

i have a "Thomson TG784n" as a internet router on the 1st floor ... and i have on the 3rd floor the TP-LINK WA830RE working as range extender ... witch is connected to the laptop by cable ... i have a good signal...i have 30mb download speed all the time...is preaty fast.

but... the internet connection goes down every 15 minuts...and it stays down for about 1 or 2 minuts and it reconects again by it self ...

this hapens a few times ... and then it loses connection compleatly...i have to restart the range extender (TP-LINK WA830RE)...and some times have to restart the laptop also, and all comes to life again.

can somebody give me a sugestion for this problem ?

thanks to all

  • This happens also to me with the netgear WN3000RP but not so often as you mentioned, i have it with the speedtouch 780wl but it seems that sometimes the dhcp adressess a new ipadres to the laptop or other device connected through the extender wich all get there ip from the thomson dhcp but these routers don't have enough options to change the dhcp for longer times. only thing you can do is set the ip from dynamic to static. In the wireless option you might want to turn off multicast setting try that for better coverage of the signal.
try the program inssider to check if there are more routers with the same channel you are on!
