Range extender to go through 3 walls

I have a Sky wifi router at the back of my house with an Edimax booster in the middle of the house. I want to install an IP enabled security camera on the front of the house as my Wife's car recently had a visit from a bump and run merchant. My problem is the wifi stops at the utility room and to get the wifi to go through two brick walls is beyond my present set-up. Can someone please advise on the best equipment to achieve this. I need a 4 to 5 bar signal outside the house to enable a full HD camera to operate.

    Hello Oldmac

I do not know if a extender will fix the problem if those walls are stopping the signal are you able to run ethernet to that side of the house then use a access point?

Hi Darren, Thank you for your answer, unfortunately running a cable from the back of the house to the utilities room at the front would be very difficult short of going over the roof. You are right in advising that method in that the camera cable would then only have to pass through one wall to be linked via cable to the router; a much more secure connection. Another solution would be to install a camera which is not IP enabled and just records to a SDXC card but these are probably obsolete by now. Jobs in our house are never simple.

Hi Darren, assessed the job again after your advice with your suggestions in mind. Looking at running a cat6 outdoor cable from the router up the back wall, through the loft and down the front wall direct to the camera through a PoE unit along the way. This should solve the wi/fi issue and power the camera. If it works OK I'll be a happy guy.
