Understood. To clarify, I was thinking that perhaps DHCP isn't working correctly for extender-connected devices because the extender is set up with a static address.

Don't know, so that is unexplained.
Still I suggest switching to DHCP on the extender, to see if that makes a difference.

I can try that later.
If I let the extender serve DHCP I’ll lose my reservation ability for the device.
Also shouldn’t the 2.4 and 5ghz networks on the extender share the same ip address. Why would I be seeing separate ips in the router for each WiFi network?

No. You can't set up a competing DHCP server on the extender.
To clarify - I am just suggesting that you configure the extender to use DHCP to get its address, instead of using a static one.
