Recommended extender for a N750 (WNDR4000) router

Hello I have a WNDR4000 router that I need to extend the signal of to other floors of the home.

What would be the recommended extender to cover the duel bands.

Thanks

  • Technically, any range extender will work.  Perhaps you are asking for what will match up to the speeds of your WNDR4000.   Netgear doesn't have an N750 class range extender.  An AC750 class extender comes closest.  But I caution you.  A range extender will, at best, have 50% of the speed of the main Wi-Fi network.  If you don't mind this, then go ahead and select one.

Alternatively, I would recommend that you set up an Access Point instead of a range extender.  This will require a wired connection to the router.  You can use Ethernet, coax or Powerline, in that order of preference.
