Reserving IP address for WN3000RPv3 WIFI extender
Hello,
I have been told I need to reserve an IP address for the above named wifi extender. Can someone please talk me through this step by step?
Many thanks,
Phil

That's a custom version for Telstra, so it was built to their specifications and might not have the reserve address feature.
In a stock Netgear router there would be a "reserve address" section at the bottom of the LAN settings page that is shown on page 41 of the user manual here: https://www.telstra.com.au/content/dam/tcom/small-business/broadband/pdf/telstra-gateway-pro-v7610-user-guide.pdf
That page looks incomplete in the manual, so check for that setting. To reserve the IP address you need to know the MAC address of the extender (particularly the MAC address used on the extender->router connection). You should be able to see that on the attached devices list in the router (but do that without any client devices connected to the extender).
If the feature isn't there, you can assign a static IP address to the extender instead.
There are two steps to assigning the static IP address. The first is to limit the range in the DHCP server in the router. For instance, you can set the ending address on page 41 of the above manual to 100 instead of 254.
Then you set the static IP address of the extender using the description on page 18 of the extender manual here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN3000RP/WN3000RP_UM_1Feb13.pdf. If you limit the range to stop at 100 in the router, then use an address over 100 for static addresses.
That is, set the ending field on the address to 101, and use the same subnet mask and range that the router uses. If your router settings on the LAN page match the Telstra manual, that would be
IP address: 192.168.15.101
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway Address: 192.168.15.1
