Reseting router firmware

Tried to get fancy with my recent purchase of a P7000 router and got way over my head. I have installed ExpressVPN on my router and not happy with it. If I reset my router will it return the firmware to the Netgear router firmware or hose my router?

    No. Resetting just removes the settings. 

    You'd need to look on the express vpn forums/site for how to remove their firmware and go back to stock.
