Returning EX7000 WiFi Extender
I am this close to returning this product to Best Buy because it was a hassle to set up, installation instructions were woefully inadequate, and the tech support person I spoke with had a hard time understanding English.
This product does an acceptable job of extending WiFi for cellphone use; we can get to the Internet just fine with a strong signal and WiFi calling works well. Access to the Internet via Windows 10 laptops is sketchy to nonexistent. Laptops get a good WiFi signal but no internet access. Not acceptable.
I’m using an ATT /UVerse router but that should not be a variable to have to deal with. This product should be able to work with any provider.
Any suggestions to salvage continued usage of this product are appreciated. The BB return policy is forcing my hand. I need to decide what l’m going to do in the next day or two.
Thanks ahead of time for the suggestions.

There's lots of variables that impact extender performance. Distance, house contruction matierials, and wireless interference. If you plugged it into the first outlet you could find and just left it there, you're not going to get the best performance. Little things like hvac in the walls, foil lined insulation, and even height of objects can play important factors. move the extender around to find the best placment. (test a couple times at each location)
Another thing you can do is check wireless networks that are interferring. there's free apps or programs for your computer you can use to do a wireless scan. This will tell you whats broadcasting and what channels are free for for best performance.
Also keep in mind netgear's fastlane technology. If you're connecting and rebroadcasting on both bands, you're going to get a (roughly) 50% reduction in throughput. Fastlane helps with optimization to prevent this to a point. I'll post a link for fastlane so you can research and try it out if you'd like

There's plenty of varialbes but a lot comes down to your house and your dedication to get stuff working. There's so much interference these days that you need to play with placement, wireless channels, and putting forth a little effort.
You're welcome to try other extenders but you'll run into the same issues.
How large is the area you're attempting to cover?
Have you checked the firmware on your extender to make sure its current?
