I doubt that the region setting has anything to do with the "no internet connection" problem - what the region settings normally do is define which WiFi channels are available.
As for fixing the "no internet connection" - you would need to tell us more - obviously you do have an internet connection because you've opened this thread - is it the same connection? Is it cable, ADSL, what are the details - or call the ISP tech support.
