If you decide to go with the Netgear EXS27, please comment on how it functions for you.
For YEARS, people increased WiFi coverage in their homes by installing WiFi Extenders, which connect to the primary router and broadcast their own WiFi signal. This solution was great for devices that remain in one location. Mobile devices, however, were problematic because they would tend to remain connected to one WiFi unit even though the WiFi signal was getting worse (and worse), even though there was another WiFi unit much closer which would have a better signal. New WiFi protocols were created and around 2016 several manufacturers (Google, Linksys, Netgear...) began shipping "mesh" WiFi systems which allowed mobile devices to make a seamless transition from one WiFi access point to another as they moved around the house.
The marketing information for the EXS27 seems to promise that it creates the equivalent of a "mesh" environment with any brand of WiFi router.
Would be really helpful to hear about a real world installation.
