Should I turn off my wifi extender when not in use?

I bought the wifi extender to use in the bedroom.  I am only using a Roku in there and the roku signal shows poor.  After setting up the extender, the signal shows good.  I am very pleased! I am wondering if I should power off the extender when I am not using the tv.  It is the only device that I need to use the extender for.  Is there an advantage of leaving it on or powering it off?

The advantage of doing this is that you save a little bit of power.

The disadvantage is that it will take some time for the extender to boot and reconnect with the main router.

Although I don't like to waste power, I'd probably leave it on.

Thank you!  I appreciate the response.  I was more worried about the use of data than power, but will go the easy way and follow your advice!!

The extender won't carry internet data unless a client is connected to it.

If you wish, you can set up the extender to only allow the Roku (or other specific devices) to connect to it, and you can also set up an access schedule for those devices.
