The 158 Mpbs reading is when I am connecting the laptop directly to the Arris DG1670A modem via ethernet cable.
I just bought a netgear AC1750 this evening, and I am actually disappointed because I have run a few speed sets in several websites (https://www.speedtest.net, https://www.spectrum.com/internet/speed-test.html) and I am getting readings in the neighboorhood of 11-25 Mbps.
This cannot be the best I can do, right?
It depends. What model is the ac1750? ac1750 is a speed.
1. What is your house materials?
2. What device are you testing with? this is key.
3. have you tried optimizing wifi channels?
4. is it only 2.4ghz or does 5ghz do the same thing?
5. If you're hardwired into the ac1750, what speeds do you get.
6. Firmware on it?
7 Are you running both devices in router mode or have you switched the netgear to AP mode.
