My apologies....as I said, I'm not very tech savy. I went to re-install and realized that I had used the Netgear Installation Assistant and NOT WPS. I re-did it using the WPS and it seems to be working fine now. I was able to connect with my phone. I did prefer having a separate password than our home but that's ok. I truly appreciate your help. Thank you. Janet

What router did you connect it to?
What firmware is on the extender?
Did you set it up using wps? If so, I'd highly recommend re-doing the setup using the installation wizard. WPS gets coded different between different manufacturers and can cause issues. When thats the case, use the install wizard.

I am not very tech savy so I will do my best to answer your questions: The router is a QWest ActionTEC WPS PK5000 router from CenturyLink. I don't understand your question of "What firmware is on the extender". I did set it up using WPS using the installation wizard. I will uninstall and re-install today and see if I get better results. Thank you for your response. I hope I can troubleshoot this.
