Trouble installing EX6120 WiFi Range Extender

Hi. Can anyone help? I have just purchased AC1200 WiFi Range Extender Model EX6120. I used WPS to connect and this was successful - the Router light on my Netgear device is glowing green. But when I attempt to connect my laptop to the new _2EXT network, I am asked to insert a password. The instruction manual tells me to use the same password as the original Router network, but that fails. Any tips?

Thanks

  • 1. try a different laptop/pc.

    2. hardwire into the extender. It does have an ethernet port you can connect to. just make sure to shut off the wifi on the device you hardwire in with or it'll default to the wireless

factory reset it and re-install it using the installation assistant and not wps. Wps doesn't always work between different manufacturer's.

Many thanks plemans. I thought of doing that but got stuck where the Manual says "Use a WiFi network manager on a computer...to find and connect to the NETGEAR_EXT (SSID) network."

That network does not appear on the list of available networks in my Mac's network manager, and it cannot find it.

      Any further advice?
