Try to Sell me Security Program

Question

Called support to help connect. &nbsp;They wouldn't help unless I purchased their "Security Plan" at $100 for 2 years, $150 for 5 years. &nbsp;Now I have a machine that doesn't work. &nbsp;What a scam. &nbsp;Is this common practise with Netgear?&nbsp;
