Unable to set up NetGear AC1200 Wifi Range Extender Model EX 6110
My wifi extender was previously connected to our old modem. We now have a new modem and SSID. I am having difficulty trying to connect it to my new modem. The previously used SSID does show up but since it is inactive, it is unable to connect.

Download and read the Installation Guide and the User Manual from https://www.netgear.com/support/product/ex6110#docs
Three options:
1. Configure the new WiFi modem/router to the previous network (SSID) and wireless password (PSK, pre-shared key) - a no brainer to ensure continuity.
2. Factory reset the extender using the reset button and reconfigure from scratch as shown in the User Manual.
3. Connect a computer to the old network name, ensure the computer does not disconnect, lack of Internet. Configure the wireless adapter to the 192.168.1.xxx/24 (255.255.255.0) address, avoid the default 192.168.1.250 of course, open a Web browser to http://192.168.1.250/ and login to the previously configured admin password. From here you can change the config or run the NETGEAR Installation Assistant again.
