I ended solving my problem by getting two Netgear PLP1200 powerline adapters. They provide lightning speed and haven't dropped the connection in the several weeks that I've had them. I don't think the range extender would have been as reliable or as easy to set up.

Hopefully someone in the community has tested air print on the extenders to give your the answer I do not have a apple device to test this.
