Using Netgear R7900 in a mesh wifi

Couple thoughts.
1. Orbi would help/work. You can go the route of extenders but if you need more than 1, I'd just go Orbi/mesh network. It's exactly what they're designed to work for. They do need at least 30 ft between devices so it depends on the size of your residence.
2. Any chance of running a ethernet cable or possibly re-routing the data entry spot (redoing coax if thats how it enters residence) so its more centrally located? A couple hours work pays off quite a bit if you're going to be in the new residence for a while. Keeps you from possible having to invest right now if the one router will cover the whole residence. And if it doesn't, maybe it'll give you enough coverage for Wireless 6 (AX) to mature a little more or a cheaper wireless 6 mesh network to be released.
3. Powerline might be an option for centrally locating a router. keep in mind that powerlines speeds never equal what they advertise (worse than wireless IMO) but if you're only getting 50mbps where you live, powerline would be able to do that.
Again, going back to the hardwiring option. You state media room and home office are on opposite ends of the house. These would be 2 places, I'd for sure want hardwired if at all possible. How old is your house? most houses built in last 20ish years in the US used cat5 wire for the phone lines instead of phone cable. Potential source? or like I said, take a day and fish some wires around the house. Its an effort I've never regretted.
