Validating Identity?
I just replaced an existing computer and when hooking up the new computer, I have connection to the internet but the status for my connection to the network here at home says "validating identity". W...

For validating Identity, you might be using a pre-shared key password (either wpa or wpa2 or both). Since you have that error, I would assume that you have an XP computer, right?
Anyway, Just go to Network Connections. Right Click Wireless Network COnnection and go to Properties. Go to the middle tab (Wireless Networks). Go to the Preferred Networks box at the bottom. DOuble-click the name of your network. It will open up a new window. Go to the AUthentication tab. Make sure that everything is unchecked (Enable IEEE...., Authenticate as computers..., Authenticate as guest...).
