What is status of firmware 1.0.1.78?

I am a little perplexed. The Netgear site still offers firmwear 1.0.1.78 for download without any warning about known issues with it. Yet there are a number of threads here reporting serious problems after upgrading to this version, with comments to the effect that Netgear are aware of these problems and are working to address them.

So I wish someone from Netgear would come out with a definitive statement: we believe 1.0.1.78 is safe to upgrade to EXCEPT WHEN..., or we do not recommend you ugrade to 1.0.1.78 at this time BECAUSE OF..., or something. The present uncertainty/lack of clarity is not really very satisfactory.
