Which product to extend existing wifi network?

Hi,

I have a Netgear router, with various devices around the house connected wirelessly and wired via a Devolo 200Mbps DLAN (home plug) network. I have a dead spot in the house and would like my existing network to be boosted there somehow - I have some devices that don't auto switch to strongest network so I don't want a new network created there, just an extension of the existing one.

Is there a power line product that transmits an extended (the same network) wifi signal wherever placed, or would I need to buy a wifi plug that sits just inside the perimiter of the existing network to boost the range?

Which product code would I need for each? I am in the UK if that makes any difference. Hope I have explained myself well enough!

Thanks in advance from a confused noob.

The wn2500rp looks like overkill if you are just trying to fil a small gap. As you already have homeplugs, I would try that route. Indeed, I am trying that.

I have just ordered this package:

NETGEAR XWNB5201-100UKS 500 Mbps Wirless Powerline Adapter Kit Deals | Pcworld

Believe it or not, it is the best price I found, a good £20 less than many suppliers. (I will never buy from Amazon again until it stops dodging taxes.)

You might get away with just the wifi bit. Or try one of these:

NETGEAR WN3000RP-100UKS Universal WiFi Range Extender Deals | Pcworld

I'll let you know if it creates a new network. Most seem to.

Maybe someone can advise if you can use the same SSID and password to deal with that issue. That stuff confuses me too.
