Which range extender works best with the CM500? Also how do you upgrade the firmware for that model

A couple things.
1. The cm500 is a modem only. You need a router to connect a range extender to.
2. the cm500 is a modem only. The isp controls the firmware and is the one's who update it. Its not user updateable.
