Wi-Fi extender

I have a Verizon jetpack AC791L and I will like to boost its signal from 2 bars. Do I need to get a Wi-Fi extender or a router. Which product is best. I just need it for one room.

    A extender will work with the aircard.

    I've been using the Netgear MIMO Antenna (part # 6000450) with my AC791L and getting a boost of about 1 bar from a previous 2 or 3 bar level.  It's about $28 from Amazon.  Harry
