Not sure what you mean by a powerline adapter. Could you direct me to a few examples / resources.

150 to 200 feet is a stretch for wifi. I have trouble with 50 feet to my shed.
Powerline does work. But as searay says, the shed needs to be on the same mains circuit. My Powerline even manages to find its way through a separate fuse box.
